Doppelmayr/Garaventa Technology

Olympos Cable Car is built with Doppelmayr/Garaventa technology, the world's most reliable cable car manufacturer, reflecting the highest standards of Swiss engineering. The 4,350-meter line is one of the longest cable car routes not only in Turkey but in the world.
The Doppelmayr/Garaventa adventure, which began in Switzerland's Grindelwald region in 1908, is now the leader in rope transportation technology with a 60% market share worldwide. This high engineering accumulation has met with a modern, durable and environmentally friendly system in Olympos Cable Car
Modern Rope Cable Car System
Olympos Cable Car offers a comfortable and safe journey to the 2,365-meter summit of Tahtalı Mountain, one of the highest peaks closest to the sea. Our cable car system has been planned and built in accordance with European CEN standards and harsh environmental conditions.
Two large cabins working reciprocally in our facility move independently on carrying and pulling ropes. These cabins, operating with the main motor system at the lower station, are supported by sliding bearings on special carrier poles along the route. A fixed height is maintained during each journey, ensuring a smooth and balanced climb.

Strong Infrastructure and Backup Systems

Your safety is our top priority. Our cable car system is designed redundantly against possible risks:
- Independent electrical system: Uninterrupted energy is provided by two large diesel generators in addition to the main energy source.
- Emergency evacuation system: Thanks to the electro-hydraulic backup drive system, cabins are safely evacuated in case of a possible malfunction.
- Rope tension systems: The balance in the system is maintained with special tension weights and fixed rope anchors against temperature and load changes.
Swiss Engineering Meets Turkish Hospitality
Thanks to Doppelmayr/Garaventa technology, Olympos Cable Car offers its guests not just a means of transportation, but also a high-tech equipped nature journey. Every detail is designed with both environmentally friendly and human-centered perspective.
While our visitors enjoy the safe and comfortable transportation offered by the cable car, they accumulate unforgettable memories with unique views and nature at the summit of Tahtalı Mountain.
